Purpose of and legal basis for the processing of personal data

All personal data to be submitted on Latvijas Banka's website www.e-monetas.lv/en (hereinafter the "website") are needed for the purposes of fulfilling the order, including by transferring them to third persons to ensure the delivery, and payment processing. Data processing is required for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract.

Use of personal data and categories of the personal data processed

When a purchase is made on the website (www.e-monetas.lv/en), we collect all or part of the personal data described below. The information collected depends on the particular purchase and the selected type of delivery. The personal data collected are needed to ensure a successful purchase and are transferred for this purpose (e.g. for the confirmation of the order, the calculation of delivery costs, etc.).

For communication with the customer, Latvijas Banka uses the e-mail address and/or the mobile phone number indicated by the customer at the moment of placing the order.

When making purchases via the website, the customer may agree to receive Latvijas Banka's information notices on the coins offered by Latvijas Banka that are sent to the e-mail address indicated by the customer or in the form of a mobile phone text message.

Applicable retention period

If the checkout process is interrupted before the start of the payment transaction, data are deleted at the end of the visit.

Data on the delivery of the purchase are stored on the website for two years.

Latvijas Banka retains the personal data related to the execution of payments for five years following the transaction.

Data subject rights

Data subjects have the right to access data relating to them and to rectify the data as well as the right (limited) to erase their personal data and object to the processing of their personal data in compliance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC and the Personal Data Processing Law.
